As they reached the outskirts of Thunder's territory, Missi looked around with interest. From the way he had talked about it she was sure that she would like it there, though she was suddenly alot more nervous wondering how many other mares he had in his herd and if they would like her. Just the thought was enough to make her freeze up..she was always miserably uncomfortable in most social situations..
Hearing Thunder speaking again, she turned her gaze back to him, ears perked forward to listen to him and smiled understandingly. "Like what?"she asked curiously, blurting out the question without thinking and not being able to take it back once it was out. Not that it was a bad question; she just hadn't meant to pry.
"Nevermind, I suppose it isn't really important." she rushed to add, smiling abit as she walked along next to him.

Thunder felt at home almost immediatly. As soon as they crossed the invisible line that was between his land and The Wandering Fields, he relaxed. He glanced over at Missi, noticing that she suddenly seemed nervous. He thought about asking what was wrong, but then he decided that if she wanted to talk about it she would. He wouldn't push her.
"Oh, thats okay. Nothing wrong with the question," he said, continuing toward the place that he had left his herd; by the river. "Well, last time I said that I had been having a good day, a foal was killed in my herd," he said, a small hint of sadness creeping into his voice, which he abruptly shuved away.

It was a stupid reaction; she knew it was- but that didn't stop her from feeling anxious about meeting the other mares in Thunder's herd. He probably had a lead mare too, she assumed, which made her even more nervous because she always felt the need so small and insignificant next to most other mares, especially those with more power than she.
"Oh.I see.."she said softly, her tone laced with sympathy. That was always hard...Losing a foal was the absolute worst thing that could happen to a herd. It was especially hard for a parent but she knew that was a pain the whole herd shared together. Nodding slightly, she followed along beside Thunder as he led the way toward the river.
"Are there...alot of others in your herd?"she asked softly, getting to the root of what made her so jumpy. Introductions. Strangers. She liked new people- really, she did- she just always seemed to angst about meeting them even knowing that it was never quite as bad as she imagined it to be beforehand.

Thunder smiled, "Actually, not too many. I only resently claimed this place. In total, about 4 mares and 2 stallions," he answered with a shrug. (all 'cept Geisha made-up >_<) "They're all relatively nice, so you have no need to worry. I'm sure they'll like you," he added after he noticed how nervous she seemed.
He quickly thought over the members of his herd. The newest member, besides Missi of course, was Geisha. The 2 stallions in his herd had been roaming The Plains before he had claimed it. They had joined his herd on their own. And he didn't really mind. The two mares he had recruited through....other means.

"I see.." She was honestly relieved; a small herd was a good thing in her opinion. True, he had barely begun to recruit and that probably had the most to do with it, but still she liked it better. It was slightly less nerve-wracking.
A soft smile curved her lips as she listened to Thunder, a bit reassured by his words but mostly just flattered he would even try to comfort her. "You think so?"she asked hopefully.
((Blah, my muse died a very slow and painful death apparently xD..))

Thunder turned his head toward her and grinned, "I'm certain of it," he said, his voice confident and certain in itself. Ever since he had claimed The Plains, he had been trying to find the right mare for him. At first, he had wanted Midnight, but after the insidence with her, he had changed his mind. He wasn't quiet sure what to do about the matter. Surely it wasn't important enough for him to worry about it? All the same, it was....not exactly traditional.....but it had always been done. A lead stallion always found a lead mare. It was just....done. Thunder glanced over at Missi and wondered if perhaps she was the mare he had been looking for.
((sorry >_< it's probably my low muse posts. My muse is practically gone))

Missi smiled softly and nodded, reassured. He seemed so confident and calm, and it helped her alot to feel better about meeting his other herd members. True, she was embarassed that he'd even noticed her hesitation, but she was also glad. It was very flattering to have him pay so much attention to her. She certainly wasn't used to it, but she liked it. Thunder made her feel important and generally cared about, even if she didn't see him showing more than the average interest in a herd member. He still made her feel wanted.
"I hope so.. You'll probably think I'm just being silly, but I really worry that I won't fit in with your herd."she said softly, looking out over the Plains rather than at Thunder. She probably gave too much away saying so but she felt as though she could trust Thunder; she felt that he wouldn't laugh or roll his eyes at her...but rather he'd at least be her friend.
"But! I'll do my best, and I'll make sure you never regret taking me in."she added- it was a bad habit she had, babbling when she got on a roll and was nervous. It was usually one extreme or the other- total, hesitant silence or babbling nervousness. And at the moment she was determined to make sure Thunder was glad to have her around.
((Nah, not your fault. I've been insanely tired all day actually xD))

Thunder smiled, "If they give you any trouble, just tell me and I'll deal with them," he said. His ears twitched forward. "We're here," he said. They had reached a small grove of trees with a river running down below that originated from the Mountains. Three horses were there as well. One mare and two stallion.
Thunder looked over at Missi, "Would you like me to introduce you to the others?" he asked. Just as he said it, two more horses stepped out of the small grove of trees, both mares.

Missi smiled back at him shyly and nodded. "Thank you," she said faintly, side- stepping slightly closer to him as they reached the grove of trees where he had left the herd. Realizing what she had done, she scooted just slightly away again, not wanting to crowd too close to Thunder or appear as nervous as she felt, though she was almost certain she did anyway.
"Yes..Please.."she answered, bobbing her head once into a slight nod. Her gaze had focused onto the other mares and the stallions, watching for their reactions to Thunder's return and her presence.

The gentle twitter of the birds. The rushing water. The shadows, delicate green, swimming and swaying over the ground below the trees. Gei's heart was light. Such a beautiful place. Such a kind people. What freedom. She had even forgiven the fact that she hadn't wanted to enter another stallion's service again so soon. It was all right- she would not have known what to do with herself alone, anyway. Surely she could find out what she wanted to do here. She was so free... Geisha murmured a reply to the mare beside her- something courteous and elegant she really wasn't paying attention to. She was more wrapped up in the feel of the day- the breeze, the scent, the tiny mist thrown up by the stream. Even the pattern of sun and shade across her back. It was magnificent. She had never felt a world so... moving, before. There was not much motion in caves. So this was the outside. She laughed gently at whatever the mare had just said- a warm, muted chuckle that rolled with the purple beauty of a morning storm cloud. There were voices up ahead. She had not been allowed to freely converse with others since the academy. Her heart sung. One voice in particular, as she and the other rounded the bend. ...She was not even sore from the night before. "Would you like to introduce you to the others?" That was... "Yes... Please..." Delicate. Feminine. Unsure. Like cherry petals. Who? Geisha blinked open her black eyes for the first time. There was Thunder, standing on the other side of the stream. And beside him stood a mare. Close beside him. Even though the moment Geisha looked, she stepped away. The girl had to be even younger than she. She was delicate, ungainly- the frail legginess of a filly still upon her. She was terribly shy, perfectly innocent. Geisha could see that at a glance. And she could also see... The way she leaned so close to him. Like she could not stand on her own. The way he let her. Supported her. Protected her. Held her up. There was a warmth, and a light, not unlike chivalry, in his eyes. Gei somehow hadn't thought he was the type. The young courtesan froze. She felt...
Awkward.
Guilty. Terrified. A third wheel. ...Sinful.
So, she was to be the other woman. She had not even met this innocent girl, and already she was betraying her. Looking at the perfect scene of love across the creek -suddenly from behind a courtesan's immutable mask- the harlot threatened to be sick.

Thunder smiled slightly, "Okay, come along then," he said. He began to walk down to the others. His gaze quickly racked over them. Geisha and Skylar were already there. The 2 stallions, Fritz and Tim (wierd I know, those were the first two names that popped into my head xD), were also there. The last mare however, were no where in sight.
Thunder wasn't really worried about that though. He decided to introduce Missi to Geisha and Skylar first. He hoped Geisha would be nice. She probably would be. And Skylar was nice too. The two seemed the best choices to introduce first. He glanced behind him to make sure Missi was following him.

Missi trotted along next to Thunder, resisting the urge to shy closer to him in her nervousness about meeting the rest of the herd. All the sudden attention made her want to hide; it was just shyness, of course, and nothing against any of the others."I'm right behind you." she responded in response to Thunder's telling her to come along, keeping pace with him.
Reaching the other mares and stallions of the herd, she immediately dipped her head. The gesture was both polite and shy as she peeked up through her lashes at the others, letting Thunder be the one to speak.

Thunder smiled slightly at Missi and then turned to his herd who had come to stand around him. "Okay everyone. As you can see, I've got us a new herd mare. Her name is Missi," he said. He then began to introduce the other herd members one by one. "This is Fritz, Tim, Geisha, and Skylar," he said, introducing them each.

[[XD roflcopters. Fritz and Tim?]]
Geisha moved unconsciously on her cue, giving the young newcomer a small bow and a gracious smile. She was still in shock, behind her immaculate Mona Lisa mask, but her autopilot didn't betray her. The level of respect in her motion was ambiguous- it would work just as well for a greeting between equals, as Thunder said- or for a first meeting with the queen.

Missi scuffed a hoof nervously along the grass, shifting her weight a bit as she peeked up at the rest of the herd memebers. Maybe she was only imagining it, but the other two stallions of the herd seemed to regard her with the disdain she was used to- Missi wasn't quite out of the gangly, awkward stage between filly and mare, though she was fast approaching it and, surely, in time would be as elegant and lovely as any mare. She hoped.
Recognizing that Thunder had finished speaking, all of the introductions done, she took a breath and then spoke softly. "It's a pleasure to meet you all," she said sincerely, not recognizing Geisha's strange reaction to her presence at all. For all she could tell the other mare seemed perfectly fine; and besides that, it was hard to study someone else when just getting over your own frozen shyness was an issue.
