Thunder smiled slightly as Missi said it was a pleasure to meet them all. His gaze quickly swept over the 4 other horses, and then came to rest on Geisha for a few moments and then went back to Missi. "Okay, well that will be all. Missi, would you mind coming with me? I'm going to show you something," he said.
He nodded his head to the rest of his herd as a dissmissal and headed off again. He glanced behind him to make sure that Missi was following and said, "Your ganna like this," he said with a small smile.
Ooc: xD Missi, it looks like your the only one with muse. btw, perhaps Geisha could follow them cause she's curious what Thunder's ganna show Missi lol

((Lol I guess I am! But I have precious little to use it on, lol. Anyways, it isn't technically my turn but I figured I should have Missi follow along with Thunder before Geisha follows them. ;p))
Missi noticed that Thunder seemed to look longer at Geisha though she didn't comment. Her mind went to whirling, though, wondering if he favored her, or if she was his lead mare, or any number of things.. Her heart seemed to sink at the thought; as silly as it was with her having just met Thunder, she didn't like the idea of him being in love with another mare."Not at all; I'm happy to follow." she answered softly, instantly curious and most definitely content to go along wherever he led.
She smiled softly at the rest of the herd, then quickly turned to follow Thunder. "I'm sure I will." she smiled back at him shyly, feeling her heartbeat skip once and then speed up a bit. She was definitely head over heels for her new herd leader..Not that she was fool enough to admit such a thing or expect him to feel the same.

Thunder smiled as Missi came along with him. He didn't know why, but he felt rather fond of her. While he thought it was a bit odd that he would. She wasn't extrodinarily beautiful or very elegant. But she held him captivated all the same. Perhaps it was some kind of "Damsil in Distress" thing. He didn't really know. All he knew was that he liked Missi more than he really would have liked.
Where Thunder was leading Missi, he had been many times before. He lead her along a well worn trail in the tall grass, heading for a small grove of trees. What he was planning on showing Missi, he hadn't shown to anyone else. He doubted anyone else even knew about it. He had found it quiet by mistake, and doubted that under different surcomstances he would have found it at all.
"Missi, I wanted to ask you something," Thunder said, as he led the way toward the "special place." He felt a bit nurvous about what he was about to ask Missi. He had never felt like this about anything before. It was rather nerve wracking. He had decided he was going to ask Missi to be his lead mare. But he was afraid she may say no.

Missi trotted along just slightly behind and off to Thunder's side, keeping pace with his strides easily, her long, lean legs unfurling and coiling with each step. There was still an awkwardness to her; not so much in her body itself but in her motion as though she couldn't quite relax lest she tumble over or misstep in some way. Despite the awkwardness- and how aware of it she was- she was content to follow after Thunder and be by his side, even if she came off more like an adoring filly than a mature mare. Though she hoped she didn't seem like some lovesick filly...That would just be embarassing.
"Oh..What is it you wanted to ask me?" she answered softly, instantly curious, her steps never faltering from the worn trail in the wake of Thunder. As her attention shifted, she subconsciously relaxed and loosened her gait so that she was less awkward. Proving that most of her awkwardness came from her own expectations of being awkward- she tensed and let herself get worked up, and made what she was afraid of happen without realizing it.
Still, she wasn't the most elegant of lovely of mares- she would grow more into her frame as the spring season went on, and if she could loosen up and grow comfortable with Thunder and the herd then maybe she would lose some of her awkwardness. But she was never going to be as confident as other mares or as vocal..that just would never be her way, and that was what she thought every stallion wanted: a strong, opinionated and regal mare by his side; she didn't think a quiet, mousy little thing like her would ever have a real chance, and not knowing that Thunder was considering asking her to be his lead mare, she did her best to convince herself to accept that.

Thunder was silent for a moment. He was struggling a bit. He had always thought that he would want a regal, elegant, opinionated, strong mare as his lead mare, but yet, here he was a mare who was practically the exact opposite and he wanted her at his side as lead mare. It was just a bit wierd for him.
He frowned but then asked, "Have you ever been interested in being lead mare?" he finally asked. He couldn't bring himself to just ask. He knew it would seen cowardly to most but he was just nervous about it. So now, here he was, dancing around his actual question.

Missi was surprised by the question, not at all sure why he brought it up. But she did her best to answer honestly. "Well..Sure, I guess. I mean..I never figured I would have the option or anything, but I've always thought it would be kind of nice." she said thoughtfully. To be chosen above all others, loved by a stallion as his mate and not just another female in the herd to procreate..Wasn't that what every mare wanted? It seemed to Missi that it would be..
((Dead muse xD))

Thunder nodded, he had figured that she would say that. He thought for a moment longer and then asked, "So if you were given the chance to be lead mare, you'd take it?" he asked. He berated himself for being so damn cowardly. What was the worst that could happen!? She could say no, his mind answered for him. And for some reason, her possibly saying no made him hesitate. Aw well, he would just see how she answered his question. If she said yes, then he would ask her, if she said no, he'd chicken out and not ask.
They were nearing the small grove of trees now. Only a little farther, he thought to himself. The place that he was leading Missi to was a very beautiful spring. The light shone through the canopy of leaves above, bathing the spring in light green light. Flowers grew around the spring, clovers too. It was very pretty. he head heard that more such springs could be found in The Forest, but he still found the one on his terf special in it's own way. Perhaps that was because it was the only spring he had ever seen. It was a beautiful place either way.
((it seems to be no muse month lol))

She considered the question carefully, formulating her answer."Well..It depends, really.. If I liked the stallion, yes. Otherwise.." she trailed off, not sure she was making any sense. For her it wasn't about the position; it was about who she shared it with. She would most definitely say yes to Thunder, but probably wouldn't have to anyone else..At least, she didn't think so.
'Why is he asking this?' she wondered as she followed him, catching sight of the grove of trees. The area around them was definitely beautiful, as much of the Plains was, but she wondered what could be beyond the stand of trees. And if they were going there. But most of all, she wondered what Thunder's motives were for questioning her.

Thunder nodded. He took a deep breath and then just decided to ask, "Would you be my lead mare?" he asked, stopping and turning to look at her. His ears were perked forward, his gaze soft and a little nervous but also curious to hear her answer. He was really hoping she would say yes.
Most lead stallions picked the first mare that joined his herd as their lead mare. Thunder however had wanted to wait until he found the right mare. He hoped no one thought him soft for it. If anything, Thunder wasn't a very soft hearted person, but for some reason he was around Missi. It might make some people wonder though if Thunder was actually as cold hearted as he seems to be on first glance.

Missi stopped her forward motion abruptly, barely managing not to run into Thunder when he stopped, turning to look at her. She probably looked as startled and amazed as she felt, her eyes just slightly widened."Me? I..Of course. Yes." her voice started out faint, but gradually strengthened as she nodded, looking at him intently. Her ear flicked, scaring a small buzzing fly away for a second or so, though she wasn't paying a bit of attention to that particular annoyance.
She was definitely startled to be asked, but also thrilled and amazed. Never in her life would she have imaged a stallion like Thunder asking her to be his lead mare. But she certainly wasn't going to pass up the chance..No, she was thrilled to stand at Thunder's side. Even if the idea of having any actual responsibility terrified her a bit. She would do her best for him.

Thunder's face brightened instantly, extremely glad she had said yes. He had seen the shock on her face, and that amused him slightly, but mostly, he was just plain happy. "Great!" he said. How utterly lame! "Great". Why couldn't he have said something more witty or charming? God, something about Missi was seriously messing with his head. "But now come on, I really want to show you this," he said, now very happy as he turned and led her into the trees. He led her onto a very narrow path that was practically invisible until you were on it.
After only a few seconds, the trail opened into a small clearing bathed in light green light. The water from the spring bubbled and the sound of bird song twittered through the air. Thunder grinned, "What do you think?" he asked quietly.

Missi saw his whole face light up and was instantly glad that she had said yes, not that she hadn't been before. But she was thrilled that he seemed so happy about her answer. While she didn't understand what he saw in her, why he wanted her of all mares..she was ecstatic. She giggled softly at his one-word response, her eyes twinkling with happiness. The response, however short, didn't seem lame at all to her..She was just glad Thunder seemed so happy.
"Okay." she nodded, following him into the trees, keeping a bit closer than she had been before, watching her step on the narrow trail among the grass. Curious about where they were headed, she started to ask..But then the trees opened up and she saw the spring and couldn't help but to gasp softly in amazement, "Wow.." she said softly.
"This place is amazing...The most beautiful place I've ever seen." she said softly, smiling.

Thunder smiled, happy at seeing her reaction. "Thats what I thought when I first came across it," he said. His gaze slowly went over the familiar spring. He smiled slightly and then watched as a squirrle bounded out of the brush and then streaked across the small open area before dashing up a tree trunk. He let out a soft snort of amusement and then turned to Missi again, "I'm really glad you said yes," he said quietly. It was true. He really, really way. He was also kinda glad that she hadn't laughed at him for him "short, lame" great.
(NOOO MUSEEE >_<)

Missi smiled softly, looking around in silence. It was, by far, the most amazing and magical place that she had ever seen..and she was flattered that Thunder would show it to her. Obviously it was special to him. She too noticed the squirrel and giggled softly as she watched it skitter up the tree trunk, probably startled by something. Looking back to the spring, she slowly walked the few steps to the edge of the water, looking at her own reflection.
Turning back to Thunder, she smiled and dipped her head shyly. "I'm glad you asked me," she responded softly. She was really glad he had; thrilled that he was glad she agreed.
