The air was very quiet. It was almost as if the whole world was holding its breath, waiting. It was beginning to get unbearable. Midnight was standing in the shade of a small spruce tree, her head lower then she usually held it. Her tail flicking agitatedly at a fly that landed on her back. Midnight winced in pain as yet another spasm wracked through her swollen body. Her breath came in ragged pants by now. She knew she didn’t have much time left before her foal was born. The black mare was incredibly nervous. This would be her first birthing. Sure she had talked to other mares that had given birth, but in the end, their words could never have prepared her for the jabbing pains that kept sweeping through her. They were practically indescribable! It felt like she was being torn apart from the inside out. Breathing heavily, Midnight lowered herself to the ground, unable to keep herself upright. Her eyes flickered closed. She could hear her blood roaring in her ears, and the unsteady thumping of her heart. And then another spasm tore through her, this one more painful than the last and Midnight let out a shrill whinny of pain.
It felt like an hour. No. It felt like a week. How long she really was there, she wasn’t sure. The only thing that she noticed first was that the pain was gone. The next thing was that two warm beings were shivering beside her. Wait. Two!? Midnight anxiously lifted her head. She had been right. There were two black foals on the mossy ground beside her. At first she was startled, but then an instinct kicked in that could only have been motherly concern. Midnight began to lick each foal, trying to warm them up and urge them closer to herself. While doing so, she studied the two fillies. A sense of pride filled her as she looked at the two. They were hers. Her very own babies. The two foals were both midnight black fillies. They looked much like she did, but held a slight resemblance to Princeston. Cocking her head to the side, Midnight studied the two. One of them, the slightly larger of the two, began to whine slightly, and nose closer to Midnight. The young foal was hungry. Midnight smiled affectionately but remembered that the foals had to learn how to walk.
Very carefully, Midnight got to her feet and moved a few feet away and began to graze, watching the two foals, hoping they would get on their feet on their own. The larger of the two, immediately tried to imitate Midnight. It stumbled and fell back down, smack on her face. Midnight winced and wondered if she should help. But the filly, which was the older one and slightly larger one, tried again. This time she got to standing, but was very wobbly on her thin, spindly legs. The filly took a hesitant step forward, and then went tumbling back to the ground. But the foal didn’t give up. She stumbled around for a few moments, and then seemed to catch on. Very clumsily, the older of the two, stumbled up to her mother to suckle.
Midnight had already decided on the two names for the fillies; Lily, for the older one, and Desire, for the younger one. She turned her gaze then to the smaller of the two, Desire. Lily Age: New Born Gender: Filly Breed: Fresien/Arabian Land: The Mountains Rank: Herd Member Dam: Midnight Sire: Princeston Blood Type: O pos. Birthday: April 24th
Coat Color: black Mane/Tail Color: black Eye Color: dark brown Height: 4 1/2 HH Over All Appearence: Lily is totally black like her mother and father with her mother's dark brown eyes. She is a little larger than her younger sister, and carries herself with a bit more confidence than Desire. Lily is rather ordinary in stature for a filly; not overly scranny, thin legs, short mane, short tail, etc. All in all though, she is rather cute. Personality Lily is very adventurous and outgoing. She is quick to blunder head first into something, without thinking about concequences, or anything along those lines. She is very nice and sweet and always stands up for her younger sister. She is also a bit of an optimist and a procrastinator. She tends to look on the bright side of things and tends to put things she isn't really interested in, farther and farther back in her scudal, thinking she has more time than she actually has.
Lily isn't the type to get down. If she falls, she hopes right back up again and continues to plow forward. She is very energetic and quick to help others, but also quick to break rules. Her motto "rules are made to be broken" is her favorite saying. Likes:
- flowers
- playing
- running
- her sister
- her parents
Dislikes:
- being bored
- being told to do something she doesn't want to do
- not getting what she wants
Pet-Peeves:
- not getting what she wants

A twig broke as the large stag walked to his lead mare, Midnight who was going to foal any minute now. He stopped looking up at the sky feeling a little nervous. He was never mean to the foals and he'd had some before, but for some reason he still felt a little nervous. Princeston shook his head anxious as he paced in place trying to figure out everything. He hadn't been around foals in a long while and he was looking forward to it as well as dreading it. Princeston shook his head as he walked to Midnight. Once he got there, Princeston saw not one, but two coal black foals. Two! Two foals and both black! They looked alot like both him and Midnight. Princeston took the scene in and let a smile form on his lips. The larger one was already walking toward her mother, but the other stayed where she was. "They are both very beautiful, Midnight," he told her calmly. Princeston knew she still hated him, but he tried his best to be respectful of her and everything else. Princeston backed off a bit giving all three of them space to be alone and so he didn't ruin anything. He looked Midnight over first before looking the foals over. Desire Age: Newborn Gender: Filly Breed: Arabian/Friesian Land: The Mountains Rank: Herd member Dam: Midnight Sire: Princeston's Pride Blood Type: o negative Birthday: April 24th
Coat Color: Black Mane/Tail Color: Black Eye Color: Caramel Height: 4 HH Over All Appearence: Like her mother and father, Desire is a pure black arabian/friesian filly. She is gangly and scranny as well as a little shorter than her sister, Lilly. She stands around four hands and doesn't carry herself as confident as the others. The rest of her is like a normal filly.
Personality Desire is a calm and quiet filly. She doesn't act quickly thinking logically and scares easily. Desire can sometimes be adventurous but tends to stay close to her mother. She is a a sweet and loyal filly. Desire can sometimes lead, but often tends to stay in the back looking and being curious about nature such as butterflies. And sometimes Princeston intimidates her. Likes: - Butterflies - Nature - Thinking Logically - Her sister - Her parents Dislikes: - Heights - Danger - Strangers Pet-Peeves: - Her dislikes
History (Perferred but not needed)
Experience: 3 years Other Characters: Legacy, Miracle, and Princeston

((both are accepted!)) Midnight lifted her head, her gaze landing on Princeston as he neared. "Thanks," she said crisply. Her eyes flickered back to the smaller of the two foals, worriedly. The older one, Lily, had come over to her without too much difficulty, but the young one wasn't even trying. Midnight frowned and then decided that Desire needed some coaxing. Midnight moved away from Lily and over to Desire, and gave the small filly a gentle nudge. "Come on, you can do it," she murmered softly.
Meanwhile, Lily had seen Princeston. She cocked her head to the side and then began to stumble her way over to the stallion. She didn't know he was her father of course. She was just curious. She took a few steps and then tripped and tumbled into the grass. But she quickly got back to her feet and tried again. Making slow, but steady proccess. Midnight was too busy trying to get Desire to get to her feet to notice that Lily was wandering off toward Princeston.

Princeston immediately became a bit cold to her. He nodded and then look to the larger of the two come towards him. The stallion smiled as he stayed where he was having the filly walk all the way to him to practice walking and all those other necessary qualities to survive. This was one of his weaknesses: Foals. Princeston loved foals and always had.
Meanwhile, Desire looked at her mother coaxing her to get up. The filly gave a small whinny and took one of her hooves, putting it infront of her. Her second front hoof she also put infront of her before putting weight on them. Her eyes closed as she stood up, working her bkac legs underneath of her. Desire shook her small head and immediately fell back down. Sneezing, she stood back up on her wobbily black legs trying to stand there and not fall down.

"That's it, not that hard is it?" Midnight murmered softly to Desire. She smiled slightly and then glanced up as she noticed that Lily wasn't beside her anymore. Her ears flicked forward, all-of-a-sudden very alert. Her eyes narrowed ever so slightly, but then she nodded. Princeston wouldn't hurt his own foal, or any foal, she was pretty sure. While it made her a bit uneasy, she knew that Princeston wasn't a murder. He may be many other things, but a murderer was most definetly not one of them.
Lily seemed to have gotten the hang of walking by then. She was now hopping around, stumbling and tripping on her wobbly little legs, but making measurable improvement and gaining confidence. She was begining to enjoy running around in the tall grace. She also liked the smile that she saw on the black stallion's face who she had neared. He seemed really nice. Lily immediatly decided that she liked him.
((remember, with time, Midnight will come to really like Princeston. Just thought I would remind you ^_6))

Desire looked to her mother who hard spoken to her. She gave a small, sweet smile as she took a very small step and then another one putting each hoof infront of her one at a time. Desire went to take one big step and tripped stumbling head first. She landed on her belly and began laughing. With one more small laugh, Desire stood up and walked in a circle before walking to her mother's belly to start nursing.
Princeston shook head mane out as he watched the black foal run and hop. He let a large smile take over his coldness to Midnight. He then turned to look at Desire and let a small chuckle out as she fell, laughing as she did so. Princeston nipped playfully at the larger one.
OOC: Yeah I know

Lily dodged away from Princeston, giggling as he playfully nipped at her. She stumbled and almost fell but was able to catch herself before doing so. She laughed again and began running in circles around Princeston. A little clumsily at first, but getting a bit faster with each circle.
Midnight had to fight to keep from laughing. "Good work," she murmered as Desire walked in a circle and then came up to her to nurse. She looked over at Lily and Princeston, and couldn't keep a small smile from spreading across her face as she saw the two play.
